Morocco, Under HM the King’s Leadership, Arab-Islamic Country Granting Greatest Interest in Al-Quds Acharif – Palestinian Minister –
The Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is the Arab-Islamic country that grants the greatest interest in the Holy City, Palestinian minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Ashraf Al-Aawar. During a meeting on Monday with Moroccan ambassador in Ramallah, Abderrahim Mouziane, the Palestinian minister welcomed Morocco’s continued support for the Palestinians and the Kingdom’s efforts to preserve Al-Quds Acharif against Judaization and to defend its Arab-Islamic monuments. He also praised the actions carried out by the Al-Quds Committee, under the chairmanship of HM King Mohammed VI, to safeguard the Arab-Islamic identity of the Holy City, the Moroccan embassy in Ramallah said in a press release. In this regard, Al-Aawar expressed his high appreciation of the laudable actions of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency for Al-Quds populations, underlining the pride and satisfaction of all the inhabitants of Al-Quds regarding to the quality of the services provided by the Agency. The Palestinian minister expressed his department’s willingness to establish partnership and twinning agreements with Moroccan cities, to benefit from the Kingdom’s experience in the field of heritage preservation and to develop joint programs to support Al-Quds families in their resistance to Judaization. He also called for continuing consultations to establish bilateral cooperation projects between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Palestine, notably to support development in the Holy City. Al-Aawar also expressed his ministry’s willingness to develop coordination and cooperation mechanisms with the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency to implement programs aimed at protecting the legal status and historical identity of the Holy City and to support Al-Quds population. For his part, Mouziane said this meeting is part of the particular interest that Morocco grants to the Palestinian cause in general, and to Al-Quds Acharif in particular, welcoming the high consideration shown by the Palestinians in the Kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, as well as the achievements of the Bayt Al-Quds Acharif Agency. The Moroccan diplomat highlighted the particular importance that HM the King attaches to Al-Quds Acharif, as well as the Sovereign’s continued efforts to preserve the historical and legal status of the Holy City and to support its population, noting that the Sovereign places the Palestinian cause at the same level as the Moroccan Sahara issue. On this occasion, Mouziane highlighted the multiple programs and projects implemented by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in the fields of health, education, housing and culture, noting that the Agency is the most active and most present Arab-Islamic institution in the Holy City over the last 25 years. He also recalled the recent humanitarian operation ordered by HM the King in Al-Quds and in the Gaza Strip, which provides for large batches of medical equipment to hospitals, as well as the distribution of a thousand Iftar meals on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Mouziane underlined that the Kingdom of Morocco is open to all initiatives undertaken by the ministry of Jerusalem Affairs to serve Al-Quds population.
