Morocco’s FM Holds Talks with UNHRC Chief
Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks on Friday in Rabat with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk. During this meeting held on the sidelines of the UNHRC retreat, held on November 21-22 at the initiative of the Moroccan Presidency of the HRC, Bourita and the UN High Commissioner discussed a number of issues of common interest, including promoting and protecting human rights. Attended by ambassadors, permanent representatives from HRC member States, and representatives of UN regional and political groups, the two-day retreat aims to address key challenges in human rights protection, while exploring potential reforms to the Human Rights Council, the UN’s central human rights body. The gathering marks another step in the ongoing dialogue on strengthening the global human rights system.
