Kingdom of Bahrain Reiterates Steadfast Support for Moroccan Sahara

Laayoune – The Kingdom of Bahrain reiterated its steadfast support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and its full sovereignty over its Sahara.

This stance was expressed in a joint Communiqué issued following the 6th Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Committee, held Monday in Laayoune. The Communiqué emphasizes that the Kingdom of Bahrain has once again welcomed the historic UN Security Council Resolution 2797, which enshrines the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty as the sole basis for resolving this regional dispute. The Kingdom of Bahrain has also shown support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy for the Sahara to facilitate negotiations based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2797, with a view to reaching a final solution that enshrines Morocco’s sovereignty over its Southern provinces.
