Morocco’s FM in Cali to Represent HM the King at Inaugration Ceremony of Colombia’s New President

Cali – Upon Very High Royal Instructions, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita arrived in Cali, Colombia, on Thursday to represent His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, at the inauguration ceremony of Colombia’s newly elected President.
Upon his arrival, Bourita was welcomed by the Governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilia Francisca Toro, the Mayor of Santiago de Cali, Álvaro Alejandro Eder, as well as the Ambassador of His Majesty the King to Colombia, Farida Loudaya.
The inauguration follows the presidential election held in June 2026, which was marked by a high voter turnout.
The winning candidate, Abelardo De la Espriella, will succeed the outgoing Head of State during an unprecedented ceremony being held outside the capital, Bogotá.
Morocco’s participation in this ceremony confirms the commitment of both Morocco and Colombia to further strengthening their bilateral relations.
