Moroccan Sahara: Peru Reaffirms Support for Territorial Integrity, Sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco

United Nations (New York) – Peru reiterated, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco, calling for a solution to the Sahara issue on the basis of the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty.

Speaking before the 4th Committee of the United Nations, the representative of Peru renewed his country’s support for Security Council Resolution 2797 which calls on the parties, he recalled, to achieve a “just, realistic, lasting and mutually acceptable solution”.

The objective is also to “respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco and to take as a basis the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco”, the diplomat insisted.
