Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers Acknowledges Morocco’s Development under HM the King’s Leadership

The Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, Mohamed Ben Ali Koman, expressed his satisfaction on Thursday in Marrakech with the process of development and progress in the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. During his address at the opening of the 19th Arab Conference for Heads of Protection Services (Civil Defense), Ben Ali Koman expressed his deep pride in the climate of security and prosperity, as well as in the process of development and progress that the Kingdom is undergoing under the leadership and enlightened vision of His Majesty the King. He also praised the Sovereign’s constant support for joint Arab action in the service of just Arab and Islamic causes, expressing his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the initiative of placing this 19th conference under His High Patronage, which represents an important milestone on the road to Arab cooperation in the field of civil protection. The SG went on to explain that the challenges faced by civil protection organizations are likely to increase as a result of climate change, and the challenges facing Arab countries, mainly linked to migratory and refugee flows. Highlighting the level and place enjoyed by civil protection organizations in several Arab countries, Ben Ali Koman stressed the need to further strengthen Arab cooperation in this field in order to effectively overcome these obstacles. The secretary General emphasized the significant role that civil protection organizations in Arab nations have played during the Covid-19 pandemic. This crisis has highlighted the importance of these organizations, and he emphasized the necessity of giving them more attention and providing them with the essential human and logistical resources required for effectively addressing disasters and managing crises. Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this 19th conference will be attended by presidents and representatives of civil protection organizations in Arab countries, the Arab League and the Naif University of Security Sciences. Participants will discuss a number of topics, including ways of combating the new dangers of environmental pollution, new developments in the Arab civil protection organizations’ missions, the setting up of an electronic portal for Arab civil protection organizations and a coordination center for operational cooperation between civil protection organizations in Arab countries, as part of the fight against major accidents and disasters.
