German Minister Hails Morocco’s Efficient Management of Al-Haouz Quake Impact

German Minister of Interior and Community, Nancy Faeser, hailed, here Monday, Morocco’s quick and efficient management of Al-Haouz earthquake impact. During a press conference following her talks with Interior Minister, Abdelouafi Laftit, the German official also welcomed the considerable efforts made by Moroccan authorities for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the earthquake-affected areas. She also expressed her sincere condolences and deep compassion to the families of the victims. The minister also congratulated the Kingdom for the organization, alongside Spain and Portugal, of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, underlining that this World Cup will be a “wonderful tournament”. She also emphasized the importance of giving new impetus to Moroccan-German relations and further deepening them in different areas, stressing that Morocco is a key political player in the region and a privileged partner of the European Union. In this respect, Faeser recalled the long-standing cooperation between the two ministries, particularly in the areas of security, anti-terrorism and organized crime, citing other spheres to expand this cooperation, namely civil protection and digitalization.
