In a setback to the “Polisario,” Saudi Arabia postpones the Arab-African summit

Saudi Arabia has strongly rejected the presence of the Polisario on its territory, labeling this entity as fictitious and considering it a terrorist organization supported by Algeria and Iran. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has chosen to postpone the date of the Arab-African summit originally scheduled for the coming Saturday in Riyadh. An official letter from the Saudi embassy in Addis Ababa was sent to the African Union Commission to announce this postponement. On multiple occasions, Saudi Arabia has asserted the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire territory, categorically rejecting the participation of an entity without international legitimacy, whose presence goes against the moral and human values that should characterize this summit. Furthermore, an emergency Arab summit is scheduled for Saturday, November 11th, in Riyadh to discuss the ongoing aggression by Israel against the Gaza Strip and seek solutions to this crisis. According to well-informed sources, the Kingdom of Morocco, supported by its allies in the Arab League and the African Union, opposed the idea of the Polisario Front’s participation in the summit. Among the opponents are the host country, Saudi Arabia, Moussa Faki, the President of the African Union Commission, and the Comoros, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the Union.
