Rabat-Abu Dhabi, Exceptional Bilateral Partnership Driven by Renewed Momentum
Morocco and the United Arab Emirates enjoy exceptional relations that are constantly fostered by a strong will underpinned by the Heads of State of the two brotherly countries. The innovative and renewed partnership, launched this Monday in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of the working and fraternal visit of HM King Mohammed VI to the United Arab Emirates, herald an even better and brighter future for the strong historical relations between the two countries. An innovative partnership thanks to its commitment to broader horizons of bilateral cooperation, as well as a renewed partnership as it constitutes a new pillar in the strong bilateral ties, embodied by the deep authentic and brotherly bonds between the two Nations. Rabat and Abu Dhabi are determined to build on the achievements and, above all, to promote the potential and opportunities offered on both sides in varied and innovative sectors. Infrastructure, water, energy, sustainable development, communications and digital economy are key areas identified in the Declaration “Towards an innovative, renewed and consolidated partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of the United Arab Emirates”, signed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The planning and development of the integrated project “Dakhla Gateway to Africa”, as well as the development of airports, port infrastructures and the High-Speed Train are structuring mega-projects which show the current momentum of Morocco-UAE relations. Another unique feature of this partnership is that the two countries are committed to exploring opportunities for strategic cooperation in food security, green hydrogen, electricity transport and maritime trade. Aiming to raise bilateral relations to an even more ambitious level, this Declaration lays the foundations of a global and balanced economic and investment cooperation model according to a pragmatic and concrete approach. The principles governing cooperation between the two brotherly countries are based on active solidarity and a resolute commitment to a win-win partnership that will give strong impetus to economic development and investment in both countries. Determined to bring this exceptional partnership to fruition, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates have agreed on financing methods, a key stage of any successful partnership momentum. They also agreed to develop implementation and monitoring mechanisms. The two countries are resolutely committed to giving new impetus to their relations and promoting the sustainability of their exceptional partnership to serve shared progress and prosperity.
