Spain’s FM to Visit Morocco on Dec. 13-14

Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, will visit Morocco on December 13-14, Spanish diplomatic sources in Madrid told MAP news agency on Tuesday. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, notably political, economic, commercial and linguistic ones, said the same sources, adding that it will be Albares’ “first bilateral trip abroad since the start of the new legislature.” During his visit to Morocco, Spain’s top diplomat will hold talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. Relations between Morocco and Spain received a strategic boost following the meeting in Rabat on April 7, 2022 between HM King Mohammed VI and the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez. The Joint Declaration adopted on this occasion underlines, among other things, the willingness to perpetuate the excellent relations that have always linked the two countries, and reaffirms the determination to constantly enrich them, in a “spirit of trust and consultation”.
