Morocco’s Top Senator Speaks with Turkish Ambassador

Morocco’s House of Councilors speaker Enaam Mayara on Monday held talks with Turkish Ambassador to Morocco Mustafa Ilker Kılıç. The two officials discussed means to strengthen relations in various fields. In this context, Mayara expressed satisfaction with the quality of the political relations between the two friendly countries, based on mutual esteem and respect under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to a statement from the upper house. Mayara emphasized the Kingdom’s willingness to continue the positive momentum of bilateral cooperation, especially in political and economic areas, highlighting the convergence of views between the two countries on numerous regional and international issues, the statement continued. He also highlighted the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a driving force to promote bilateral relations, emphasizing “the willingness of the House of Councilors to establish permanent channels of parliamentary dialogue to discuss issues of common interest.” For his part, Kılıç welcomed this meeting “as another step towards strengthening and consolidating relations between the two countries, based on common historical, civilizational, and cultural denominators,” expressing Türkiye’s willingness to engage in economic and trade programs and partnerships beneficial to both countries, the statement clarified. The Turkish diplomat stressed that he would work to elevate these relations to broader levels, taking advantage of the significant opportunities available on both sides.
