Sanchez’s Visit to Morocco, Recognition of Kingdom’s ‘Leading’ Role in Arab World & Africa – Argentine’s Political Scientist –

The visit of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, to Morocco reflects the importance that Spain attaches to the Kingdom’s “leading” role in the Arab world and Africa, as well as on the multilateral stage, Argentine’s political scientist Julio Burdman said.    “I think that this type of agenda with Morocco allows us to understand that Spain recognizes the importance of the Kingdom and its leading role, both in Africa and the Arab world, as well as in the multilateral framework, where it holds increasingly important positions,” Burdman told MAP.    Burdman, professor at the University of Buenos Aires, described the visit of the President of the Spanish Government as “very important”, stressing that Spain, in view of its history and its current projection, is an important country for Africa and the Arab world.    He also underlined that “this visit is of particular importance, because Pedro Sanchez comes from an influential sphere in shaping international public opinion, particularly with regard to issues linked to the Middle East, Morocco and the Sahara, on which Spain’s position represents a major evolution”.    The President of the Spanish Government on Wednesday paid a working visit to Morocco, marked by the audience granted to him by HM King Mohammed VI.
