Morocco’s Parliament Participates in APU 34th Executive Committee, 36th Congress
The Moroccan Parliament is taking part in the 34th session of the Executive Committee and the 36th Congress of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), held on May 25-27 in Algiers. The Moroccan Parliament, represented by a delegation from the national parliamentary section led by Mohamed Sibari, first deputy-Speaker of the House of Representatives, will take part in the consultative meeting of Parliament presidents, the Lower House said in a press release. They will also participate in the 34th session of the APU Executive Committee, as well as meetings of the standing committees, namely the Committee on Palestine, the Committee on the Political Affairs and Parliamentary Relations and the Committee on Social Affairs, Women, Children and Youth. In addition to examining the reports of previous sessions and the activities of the Secretariat-General since the 35th Congress, the current session will look into the current challenges facing the Arab region, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip. During the APU 36th congress, members will appoint a new Secretary General, celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Union, pay tribute to the previous presidency and the Secretary General, award the prize for Arab parliamentary excellence and hand over the presidency to the presidency of the new session.
