Head of Government Represents HM the King at 19th Francophonie Summit
Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch is representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the 19th Francophonie Summit, held on Friday at the Cité internationale de la langue française in Villers-Cotterêts, north of the capital, and continuing on Saturday at the Grand Palais in Paris. Upon his arrival, Akhannouch was welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron, together with Brigitte Macron, as well as the Secretary General of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo. In addition to the ministerial and Heads of State and Government segments, the Francophonie Summit is set to be a moment of exchange with young creators and entrepreneurs through several events, notably the Franco Tech technology show and the Village de la Francophonie, which hosts national pavilions, including Morocco’s, in addition to a festival celebrating the French language. Since joining the OIF in 1981, Morocco has emerged as a key player through its active participation in the organization’s various bodies. This dynamism demonstrates the Kingdom’s determination to contribute to the promotion of the OIF’s founding values, such as cultural diversity, multilingualism and international cooperation.
