Saint Lucia Hails Growing International Consensus, Driven by HM the King, in Favor of Moroccan Sahara – FM
Saint Lucia welcomes the growing international consensus and dynamic, driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in support of the autonomy plan and the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara, said Saint Lucia’s Minister of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora, Alva Romanus Baptiste, on Friday in Rabat. “Saint Lucia reiterates its full support to the Moroccan autonomy plan as the only credible, serious and realistic solution, and welcomes the growing international consensus and dynamic, driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in support of the autonomy plan and the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara, which is also the position of Saint Lucia,” Romanus Baptiste told the press at the end of his talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. The Saint Lucian top diplomat further reiterated his country’s support to Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over all its territory, including the Sahara region. Furthermore, Romanus Baptiste commended the strong bonds of friendship between Morocco and Saint Lucia. “My presence here today signals with clarity that Saint Lucia is committed to our bonds of friendship and for continued cooperation between our two countries.” “The people of Morocco and the people of Saint Lucia must continue to endure in that spirit of friendship and unity,” he concluded.
