Morocco’s Lower House, French National Assembly To Jointly Tackle Major Challenges – Assembly President
Morocco’s House of Representatives and the National Assembly of the French Republic will work hand in hand to meet major challenges facing the two nations, Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet stated on Wednesday in Rabat. Following talks with Speaker of the House of Representative Rachid Talbi Alami, marked by the signing of a parliamentary cooperation protocol, Braun-Pivet said she was “very pleased to show, through this agreement, that our two parliaments will move forward hand in hand to better meet the major challenges facing both nations”. This relationship of trust, work and friendship between the two parties is taking on new momentum, she pointed out, taking it as an “extremely strong sign”. She added that “we each represent our own populations, and we are privileged to be able to forge long-term ties of friendship, collaboration and work”. Recalling President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Morocco at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, punctuated by the signing of the Declaration on the “Reinforced Exceptional Partnership” between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, Braun-Pivet explained that her visit is part of the drive to give this Partnership a “parliamentary dimension”. In this respect, she welcomed concluding the cooperation protocol, which opens a new page in parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
