Laayoune – A delegation of African ambassadors in Morocco praised Sunday in Laayoune’s City of Trades and Skills the Royal Vision for advancing vocational training, particularly in Southern provinces.

Speaking at a meeting held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, under the theme “Laayoune, an emerging hub for education and African cooperation in the professions of the future,” the diplomats emphasized that thanks to this Royal Vision, the Kingdom has become a pioneer in strengthening the capacities of young African trainees in various sectors. Held as part of a visit initiated by the Diplomatic Foundation, the event helped ambassadors of Benin, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, and the Democratic Republic of Congo to learn about the vocational training on offer and areas of South-South cooperation in this field. On this occasion, Driss Bettache, Director of African and International Partnerships at OFPPT, announced that the Office had signed 113 cooperation agreements with African countries, hosting over 1,200 trainees from 36 nations and training nearly 1,000 African instructors. Cameroon’s ambassador Mohamoudou Youssoufou commended to MAP Morocco’s modern training infrastructure, indicating that Cameroon sends around 20 trainees each year to receive training in the United Kingdom as part of an exemplary cooperation program in the field of vocational training. Over their three-day visit (November 7-9), the diplomats toured institutions in health, education and agriculture, expressing admiration for the region’s rapid growth and its emergence as a key economic and educational hub linking Africa and the world.
