Morocco Takes Part in 48th Ordinary Session of AU’s Executive Council

Addis Ababa – The 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) kicked off on Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the pan-African organization in Addis Ababa, with Morocco participating.

The Kingdom is represented at this meeting, held ahead of the 39th Summit of AU Heads of State and Government, by a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita. This session of the Executive Committee will primarily review the report of the 51st session of the Permanent Representatives Committee, held last January, and proceed with the election and appointment of some AU bodies, in addition to reviewing the draft agenda and decisions to be submitted to the 39th AU Summit. The 39th Summit of AU Heads of State and Government will be held on February 14 and 15 under the theme “Assuring sustainable water availability and safe sanitation systems to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063.”
