Opening of Allenby/King Hussein Bridge, ‘Important Step Towards Peace’ under HM the King Leadership – MEP –

MEP Andrey Kovatchev hailed the opening, without interruption, of the Allenby/King Hussein border crossing, linking the West Bank and Jordan, thanks to direct mediation by Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, calling it an “important step towards peace in the region’. “Deep gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI for the key role he played in this important step towards peace and reconciliation in the region”, tweeted the MEP and spokesman for enlargement and the southern neighborhood of the European People’s Party, saying he was ”delighted with this decision”. The Israeli authorities have decided to open, without interruption, the Allenby/King Hussein border crossing, linking the West Bank and Jordan, thanks to a direct mediation of the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This mediation, conducted by Morocco and the United States of America, led to an agreement for the permanent 24/7 opening of this crossing, which constitutes the only opening of the Palestinians to the world. The opening of this border crossing, located about 50 km from the capital Amman, will be effective soon when the logistical conditions are met, especially in terms of human resources.  The opening of this crossing, which is very popular with Palestinians, will have a beneficial impact on their daily lives and will facilitate the movement of people and goods.
