Upon High Royal Instructions, FM Chairs Delegation to Arab Summit in Algiers
Upon high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, chairs the Moroccan delegation to the 31st session of the Arab Summit which kicked off Tuesday in Algiers. The Moroccan delegation also includes the Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Tazi, the Director of Mashrek, Gulf and Arab and Islamic Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Fouad Akhrif and the head of Division of Arab and Islamic Organizations at the Ministry, Mr. Abdelali Al-Jahed. On the agenda of this Summit are several items and draft resolutions adopted by the preparatory meeting of Arab foreign ministers on the developments of the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, solidarity and support for Lebanon, developments in the Syrian crisis and the situation in Libya and Yemen. It will also discuss support for peace and development in Sudan, support for the Republics of Somalia and the Union of the Comoros, the issue of Iran’s occupation of three Emirati islands, Iranian interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, maintaining national security in the Arab world, as well as the fight against terrorism and the development of the Arab anti-terrorist system. The Arab Summit will also discuss other issues related to joint Arab action and energy and food security in the Arab region.
