U.S. Senators Commend HM the King’s ‘Extraordinary’ Regional Leadership

U.S. senators visiting Morocco commended, Friday in Rabat, the “extraordinary” leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in the whole region. HM the King is an “extraordinary leader in Morocco, in Africa, and even in Europe and in the entire region,” said in a statement to the press, the Republican Senator from Oklahoma, James Lankford. Lankford stressed that the leadership of the Sovereign is “a real asset” for strengthening dialogue in the region. In a similar statement, collected on the sidelines of the dinner offered by HM the King in honor of the U.S. congressional delegation, the Democratic senator from Nevada, Jacky Rosen, thanked the Sovereign for the Moroccan”warmth and hospitality”, noting that this visit to the Kingdom was an opportunity to reflect on how to deepen the “long-standing partnership” between Rabat and Washington. Rosen noted that the two countries are working together to achieve common goals of peace and prosperity throughout the region. The U.S. congressional delegation, which also includes Senators Michael Bennet, Kirsten Gillibrand, Dan Sullivan, Mark Kelly and Ted Budd had met Friday with Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. The talks focused on the distinguished relationship between Morocco and the United States, based on a strong, ambitious and diversified partnership.
