This reflects Morocco’s full solidarity with the city of Al-Quds and its interest in supporting the Maqdessis,” explaining that “there are many joint programs between the two peoples.” Shtayyeh, on behalf of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and that of the Palestinian Council of Ministers, expressed congratulations to “our people in brotherly Morocco on this special day in its history, wishing health and wellness to His Majesty the King and continued progress and prosperity to the Moroccan people .” This ceremony was marked by the presence, in particular, of a number of Palestinian ministers and officials, diplomats accredited to Palestine, members of the Executive Committees of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Central Committee of the Fatah movement, and Islamic and Christian religious figures. His Majesty King Mohammed VI reaffirmed in his Throne Speech “Morocco’s unwavering position regarding the just cause of Palestine and the legitimate right of our Palestinian brothers and sisters to set up their independent State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and to make sure all peoples in the region enjoy security and stability.”
