Peru Suspends Relations with So-Called ‘SADR’
Peru has decided to suspend, as of this Friday, its diplomatic relations with the so-called “SADR”. “In accordance with international law rules, the government of Peru has decided to suspend, as of today, its diplomatic relations” with the so-called “SADR”, the Peruvian ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. The same source added that Peru, faithful to the principles of international law that guide its foreign policy, reiterates its willingness to continue to support, within the framework of the United Nations, all efforts aimed at ensuring that the parties involved in the Sahara issue reach a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution. The Government of Peru added that this solution shall be based on “compromise” within the framework of arrangements in conformity with the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter, with the support of the international community and friendly countries such as Peru.
