Upper House Speaker, Azerbaijan’s FM Stress Importance of Parliamentary Dimension in Boosting Bilateral Relations

The House of Councillors Speaker, Naam Miyara, and the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, stressed, Monday in Rabat, the need “to give the parliamentary dimension its rightful place in strengthening bilateral relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan.” During their talks, the two parties expressed both countries’ strong willingness to deepen their relations and give new impetus to bilateral cooperation in various fields, said the Upper House in a press release. The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister expressed his pride to visit Morocco, and hailed the quality of bilateral political relations, added the same source. Bayramov also said that this visit aims to boost economic, commercial and cultural relations between the two countries, taking advantage of the assets and opportunities available to strengthen cooperation in various fields, underlining the importance of joint action by the two legislative institutions of Morocco and Azerbaijan, notably through parliamentary friendship groups and within the framework of coordination within multilateral parliamentary organizations. For his part, Miyara expressed his satisfaction at this visit, which reflects the strength of the exceptional relations between the two brotherly countries, based on cooperation, solidarity and mutual respect, saying that the geographical distance between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan has not been an obstacle to developing these distinguished relations. After outlining the major projects initiated in Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Miyara underlined “the House of Councillors’ readiness to support efforts to stimulate and consolidate the positive development of the economic and commercial aspect of bilateral relations, all the more so as the composition of the Upper House of Parliament is marked by an active presence of entrepreneurs and businessmen.” In this context, the House of Councillors Speaker expressed his thanks for the Republic of Azerbaijan’s constant and firm stance in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Sahara, reaffirming Morocco’s continued support for Azerbaijan at various international forums.
