Senegalese Top Official Hails Progress-Yielding Partnership with Morocco
Senegal’s National Assembly Speaker Amadou Mame Diop on Wednesday highlighted the substantial progress resulting from the dynamic partnership between Morocco and Senegal. The remarks were made during a plenary session at the National Assembly, coinciding with the working visit of Morocco’s House of Representatives’ Speaker Rachid Talbi El Alami, who is leading parliamentary delegation to Senegal. According to Diop, this dynamic collaboration has led to notable progress in diverse sectors such as banking, services, transportation, agriculture, education, training, housing, telecommunications, energy, fishing, and trade. He specifically acknowledged Morocco as a key economic, financial, commercial, cultural, and tourist partner for Senegal, attributing the success of this bilateral cooperation to the visionary leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and Senegalese President Macky Sall. Diop underscored the historical depth of the relationship between the two nations, emphasizing the natural extension of the synergy in Moroccan-Senegalese relations to the international stage, particularly focusing on the shared principles of peace, security, and solidarity. The Senegalese official further noted the alignment of views in regional and international cooperation, highlighting joint efforts for peacekeeping in various global regions. In this respect, he pointed out the collaborative advocacy by both nations for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East, emphasizing the respect for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. Acknowledging the constructive roles played by HM King Mohammed VI and Senegalese President Macky Sall, respectively as President of the Al-Quds Committee and President of the Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Diop emphasized the shared message of peace, solidarity, and tolerance between Moroccans and Senegalese. The Senegalese official concluded by emphasizing the shared history, geography, culture, and spirituality that binds the two nations together, creating a community of destinies, values, and mutual esteem under the wise leadership of the two Heads of State.
