To Harm Morocco, APS Delves into the Dregs of Pseudo-information and Hallucinatory Delirium
In its many attempts to damage Morocco’s image, the official Algerian news agency APS has once again delved into the dregs of pseudo-information peddled by a repeat offender and in the hallucinatory delusions of an individual suffering from imaginary persecution syndrome, engaging compulsively in human rights activism. In a news dispatch entitled “High-ranking Moroccan security officials subject to an international arrest warrant », published on January 16, 2024, APS relies on false information disseminated by a Moroccan national who has been convicted by the Italian justice system of fraudulent offenses. Contacted by MAP, a diplomatic source in Rabat “categorically denies” the misleading and factually false content of the APS news dispatch, which deliberately follows an editorial line that is damaging to Morocco’s image. The Kingdom’s security institutions,” adds the same source, “are known the world over for their rigor, know-how and professionalism, as demonstrated, among other things, by the choice of the Kingdom of Morocco to host the 93rd General Assembly of Interpol”. By deliberately seeking to harm the national institutions that are the pillars of the Kingdom’s security and stability, it is not surprising that APS publishes this kind of pernicious writing, flouting the most elementary rules of ethics and deontology.
