HM the King’s Vision Is Strategic Pillar to Develop South-South Cooperation – Dominican Lower Chamber Speaker –
HM King Mohammed VI’s Vision has made South-South cooperation a “fundamental and strategic pillar for the development of Africa, the Arab world and Latin America,” the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic, Alfredo Pacheco, said on Thursday. “HM the King’s enlightened vision has consolidated trust and fraternity between the governments and parliaments of these regions,” said Pacheco in a video address at the opening of the Parliamentary Conference on South-South Cooperation in Rabat. In this respect, the Dominican Lower Chamber Speaker warmly welcomed the Royal Initiative to promote access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel states, which he said would help “to promote the establishment of an important basis for regional integration and the creation of an unprecedented model of regional cooperation.” “I would like to commend HM King Mohammed VI’s distinguished leadership in promoting international cooperation,” said Pacheco, who is also President Pro Tempore of the Forum of Presidents of Legislative Powers of Central America, the Caribbean Basin and Mexico (FOPREL). He emphasized the “importance and effectiveness” of the role played by the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors in strengthening cooperation ties between Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and the Arab world, noting that the conference would further consolidate collaborative relations, strategic partnerships and integration between these regions. Pacheco called for building solid bridges to create the conditions necessary to foster institutional, economic and social transformations in the regions represented at this international conference.
