President of Central American Parliament Commends Morocco’s Efforts to Promote South-South Cooperation

President of the Central American Parliament (Parlacen), Silvia Garcia Polanco, paid tribute on Thursday to Morocco’s efforts, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to promote South-South cooperation. “I would like to pay tribute to the Kingdom of Morocco’s efforts to strengthen South-South cooperation, in particular His Majesty the King’s Initiative for the Development of the Atlantic Region,” said Garcia Polanco, in a video address to the Parliamentary Conference on South-South Cooperation, held in Rabat. She stressed that Parlacen places South-South cooperation at the top of its priorities, adding that this regional legislative institution works to consolidate collaborative links between countries of the South, both regionally and internationally. Noting that the Central American Parliament and the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco have maintained “solid relations” since 2015, she said that the two legislative institutions had launched a series of initiatives, including the creation of the Afro-Latino American Assembly (Afrolat), crowned by the granting of “advanced partner” status to the Kingdom, in recognition of its leading role in strengthening South-South cooperation.
