Banjul: Morocco, ICESCO Sign Annex to Amend Headquarters Agreement
Morocco and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) signed on Saturday in Banjul, The Gambia, an annex to amend the organization’s headquarters agreement. The annex was signed on the sidelines of the 15th session of the OIC Islamic Summit Conference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of ICESCO. The document stipulates in particular that the Moroccan government will take all necessary measures, in accordance with the provisions of Moroccan legislation in force, to facilitate access to and residence in the Kingdom of Morocco for ICESCO’s contract staff in the context of training and professional qualification programs. Founded in 1982, Rabat-based ICESCO is an intergovernmental organization specializing in education, science and culture, with 53 member states in four regions: Africa, the Arab world, Asia and Latin America.
