Euro-Med Gulf Parliamentary Forum: PARLASUR President Commends HM the King’s Pioneering Role in Enshrining Tolerance
President of the Parliament of the Economic Community of South American Countries (PARLASUR), Fabiana Martin, hailed, on Thursday in Marrakech, the pioneering role of HM King Mohammed VI in enshrining the values of tolerance and establishing peace. Speaking at the Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean region and the Gulf, held in Marrakech by the House of Councillors and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), Martin said that the commitment to peace, a fundamental basis of any society that seeks “justice” and “equity”, is a value that must be preserved and promoted. “The conflicts and tensions in the world require all stakeholders’ commitment to resolving them”, she insisted, highlighting the need for constructive dialogue based on parliamentary diplomacy, as “the only way” to face common challenges and establish an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. Initiated by the House of Councillors and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Marrakech Forum represents an ideal opportunity for parliamentarians and PAM founding partners to interact with political and economic stakeholders from public and private sectors, as well as with academia and civil society. This second edition of the conference, which will run until Friday, deals with two main themes: “The transition to green energy” and “Supporting entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises in this process.”
