22nd Meeting of Moroccan-French Joint Military Commission Wraps Up
The 22nd Meeting of the Moroccan-French Joint Military Commission, held under the High Royal Instructions on December 2 and 3, 2024, in Rabat, were co-chaired by General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, and General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces. The meeting concluded with the signing of the minutes concerning various aspects of bilateral military cooperation. On the second day of his visit to Morocco, and on the sidelines of the 22nd Meeting of the Moroccan-French Joint Military Commission, General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces, delivered a lecture at the Royal College of Higher Military Education (CREMS) in Kenitra. The lecture, titled “Armed Forces Facing the Challenges of Hybrid Warfare,” was attended by trainee officers from the Advanced Defense Course and the Staff Course, as well as faculty members and staff officers of CREMS, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces. Subsequently, the French Chief of Staff, accompanied by a significant delegation, visited the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat to pay respects at the tombs of Their Majesties the late Mohammed V and the late Hassan II, may God have mercy on their souls. On this occasion, General Thierry Burkhard laid a wreath on the tombs of the two revered Sovereigns.
