Morocco’s Soudi Mathis qualified, on Wednesday, for the semi-finals of the canoe slalom event as part of the Tokyo Olympics.
Mathis held the 7th place in the 1st round of the playoffs with a time of 93.86, before finishing 19th in the second round (98.92).
The semi-finals will be played this Friday at the Kasai Canoe Slalom Center. Mathis is the only Moroccan representative still competing in the canoe slalom after the elimination of compatriot Jodar Célia.
The Kingdom’s last participation in Canoe Kayak dates back to the Sydney 2000 Olympics where it was represented by Nizar Samlal.
