Pedro Sanchez’s Planned Visit to Morocco Enshrines Spain’s Support for Moroccan Autonomy Plan – Malagasy Academic –
The visit planned in the coming days by the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, to Morocco, at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI, will enshrine Spain’s support to the Moroccan Autonomy plan in the southern provinces of the Kingdom, said Monday Malagasy academic Ravaka Andrianaivotseheno. “This very positive rapprochement between the Spanish and Moroccan governments is expected to promote stable and continuous bilateral relations, based on the principles of respect, trust and friendship,” Andrianaivotseheno told MAP. Recalling that the Spanish government has clearly underlined that the Moroccan Autonomy initiative is the most serious and realistic basis for the resolution of the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, she pointed out that Madrid’s position is now “without ambiguity”. Furthermore, Mrs. Andrianaivotseheno, who is also a member of the Malagasy Circle Association of Friends of Morocco, stressed that the latest developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue attest to the effectiveness and success of Moroccan diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The new era of Moroccan-Spanish relations marked by partnership and mutual trust will inevitably contribute to the promotion of the development and well-being of the populations of the entire region, said the Malagasy expert.
