Lower House Speaker Holds Talks with Sheikha Bint Yousuf Al-Jufairi, Member of the Shura Council of Qatar

Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House), Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks, on Wednesday in Rabat, with the Member of the Qatari Shura Council, Sheikha bint Yousuf Al-Jufairi. The Qatari MP is currently on an official visit to Morocco to participate, as a representative of the Arab Parliament, in the International Parliamentary Symposium hosted by the House of Advisors on the theme “Sovereignty and Food Security between the Global Situational Challenges and the Strategic Security Challenges”. The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations by extending bridges of communication, cooperation and exchange of experiences and expertise between the legislative institutions of the two countries, a statement from the Lower House said. In the same vein, they stressed the quality of relations between Morocco and Qatar, which are based on mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and continued support in various parliamentary fora. Mr. Talbi El Alami highlighted the vital role played by the two Parliaments in strengthening and consolidating Moroccan-Qatari relations to serve their common interests, stressing the multifaceted cooperation and coordination between the two legislative institutions in various sub-regional, regional and international parliamentary fora, added to the exchange of parliamentary experiences, mutual visits, and effective communication ensured by the existing Parliamentary Friendship Group.  The Speaker of the House also acclaimed the brotherly solid, and friendly relations between the two heads of state, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and H.H. Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. For her part, Sheikha bint Yousuf Al-Jufairi expressed her thanks and gratitude to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Speaker of the Qatari Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim.  In turn, she praised the excellent relations and ties of friendship and solidarity between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco, stressing the importance of intensifying and exchanging visits between parliamentary delegations to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, the statement concluded.
