Expo-2020 Dubai Kicks Off
Expo 2020 Dubai opened Thursday with a lavish ceremony of fireworks, music and messages about the power of global collaboration for a more sustainable future. Officially inaugurated by the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this global fair brings together more than 190 countries “to think about the world of tomorrow”. This is a “new chapter in the history that will be written, the first time to be held in a country in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region,” the organizers said in a statement. Morocco takes part in this fair under the sign “Legacies for the future, from inspiring origins to sustainable progress”. The participation of the Kingdom is an open invitation to visitors to discover the country, its history and its identity, but also its achievements in various fields. About 25 million visitors are expected to attend the fair, which was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Visitors must be vaccinated or show a negative PCR test. According to the organizers, all preventive measures have been taken to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, including the wearing of masks and the respect of social distancing.
