Burkina Faso Official Reiterates His Country’s Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity

Vice President of Burkina Faso’s transitional legislative assembly, Daouda Diallo, reiterated, here Wednesday, his country’s constant support for the kingdom’s territorial integrity, recalling that Burkina Faso opened a consulate in Dakhla in October 2020. During his talks with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, Diallo, on a working visit to Morocco, welcomed the Royal speech delivered by HM King Mohammed VI on the 48th anniversary of the Green March, in which the Sovereign proposed “the launch of an international initiative to enable the Sahel countries to have access to the Atlantic Ocean”, underlining that Morocco “is willing to put its road, port and rail infrastructure at the disposal of these sister countries”, the House of Representatives said in a press release. Diallo also reiterated, on behalf of the Burkina Faso parliamentary delegation, the condolences and solidarity of his country with the Moroccan people following the September 8th earthquake, welcoming the wise management of the earthquake impacts under the far-sighted leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. For his part, Talbi El Alami expressed the House of Representatives’ will “to strengthen its cooperation with the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, to share its experience and to promote permanent coordination at various levels”. Talbi El Alami also gave an overview of the constitutional powers of Parliament and Morocco’s parliamentary experience spanning nearly 60 years.
