Morocco, Azerbaijan Determined to Give New Impetus to Bilateral Relations – FM –

Morocco and Azerbaijan are determined to give new impetus to their bilateral relations, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said Monday in Rabat. At a press briefing held at the end of the 2nd session of the Joint Cooperation Commission, co-chaired with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Bayramov stressed that the two parties shared a common vision and the importance of giving new impetus to their bilateral relations, notably through the exchange of visits between senior officials of the two countries. In this sense, Azerbaijan’s top diplomat said that the agreements signed on the occasion of this joint commission will help deepen bilateral relations in various fields, adding that regular political consultations between the Moroccan and Azerbaijani Foreign Affairs Ministries will also help consolidate political dialogue and the bilateral agenda. He said that this 2nd session of the Joint Cooperation Commission was intended as an opportunity to examine ways of strengthening trade and promoting investment on both sides. In this respect, Bayramov pointed out that despite the interest expressed in better promoting trade between the two countries, the figures recorded still do not reflect the potential of the two friendly countries. The same applies to mutual investment between the two countries, he explained, noting that the Joint Commission meeting was an “excellent opportunity” to further strengthen bilateral relations in a number of areas. The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest, particularly at international level, he said. The Azerbaijani official also warmly congratulated Morocco on its “well-deserved” nomination to host the 2030 World Cup, alongside Portugal and Spain. He also offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the Al Haouz earthquake.
