German MP Jurgen Hardt stressed on Friday in Munich the “depth” of relations between Germany and Morocco, a “reliable and essential” partner in the Middle East and North Africa. “Germany and Morocco are linked by long-standing and deep-rooted relations, which have improved remarkably in recent times”, said Hardt, who was speaking to Nadia Bouaida, chairwoman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs and Moroccan Expatriates, on the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference (February 16-18). The Bundestag MP also highlighted Morocco’s “stability at all levels”. For her part, Bouaida emphasized the development Morocco is undergoing, under the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI, reviewing the development projects Morocco is engaged in, particularly in the kingdom’s southern provinces. During the meeting, Bouaida and Hardt discussed the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and exchange experiences linked to the work of the committees of the Moroccan and German parliaments. Bouaida also discussed with her counterpart in the British Parliament, Alicia Kearns, ways of strengthening cooperation between the two parliaments and promoting the exchange of expertise and experience between the two foreign affairs committees.
