Guinea Sincerely Thankful to HM the King for Humanitarian Repatriation of Nationals

Conakry – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Guineans Abroad, Morissanda Kouyaté, on Sunday conveyed his country’s sincere thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI following a humanitarian operation to repatriate several dozen Guinean nationals to their homeland.

In a statement to MAP agency upon the arrival of the first Guinean nationals at Conakry International Airport, aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight from Dakhla, as part of this voluntary return operation, Kouyaté expressed the sincere thanks of the Republic of Guinea to His Majesty the King for this humanitarian gesture, lauding the ongoing efforts by the Moroccan authorities to help these Guinean nationals, who were victims of a shipwreck in Moroccan territorial waters.

He added that “Guinea will always remember this act, which complements others carried out by Morocco.”

The Guinean minister also highlighted the efforts made by the two Heads of State to strengthen and deepen ties between the two countries.

“Morocco and Guinea maintain strong, deep, and historic relations that they are reinforcing steadily,” he stressed.

Other similar voluntary return operations of Guineans from Morocco are expected to take place in upcoming days, bringing the total number of Guinean nationals who have voluntarily chosen to return home to 360.

Medical and psychological support arrangements have been made available to Guinean nationals who expressed their wish to return to their country and reunite with their families and loved ones.
