House of Representatives Adopts by Majority Government Program
The House of Representatives adopted by a majority, Wednesday during a plenary session, the government program presented by Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, before both Houses of Parliament, in accordance with the provisions of Article 88 of the Constitution. The government program was adopted by 213 votes to 64 with one abstention. Therefore, the lower house granted its confidence to the new government in accordance with Article 88 of the Constitution which states: “The government is invested, after having obtained the confidence of the House of Representatives, expressed by the vote of an absolute majority of the members composing the said House, in favor of the government’s program”. After the adoption by the House of Representatives of the government’s program, the new Executive will have completed the constitutional requirements to exercise its prerogatives and become accountable to Parliament.
