Lower House Speaker Meets With Hungary’s Speaker of National Assembly, Finance Minister

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House), Rachid Talbi Alami, started, Thursday in Budapest, high-level talks with the Speaker of the  National Assembly of Hungary, László Köver, and the Hungarian Minister of Finance, Mihály Varga. Talbi Alami, currently on a working visit to Budapest at the invitation of his counterpart Köver, welcomed the position of Hungary regarding the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, adding that it is “a position based on the centrality of the UN reference, considering the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco for its southern provinces as a logical and applicable solution,” said a statement from the Lower House. For his part, the speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly stressed the strategic role that the Kingdom plays as a “pole of stability” in the Maghreb and Africa. The Speaker of the House of Representatives also held talks, the same day, with Varga, on the prospects for consolidating the economic partnership between the two countries, based on the 21 agreed upon areas during the 4th Joint Committee held in Budapest on 24 and 25 May, according to the statement.  During these two meetings, Talbi Alami was accompanied by Mohamed Ghiat, chairman of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) in the House of Representatives and Karima Kabbaj, Ambassador of Morocco to Hungary, the same source added.
