Marrakech: Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal Welcome HM the King’s Initiative to Establish African Institute for Lifelong Learning

Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal welcomed Wednesday in Marrakech, the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the creation of the African Institute for Lifelong Learning. Speaking at a ministerial roundtable devoted to the launch of the “Global Report on Adult Learning and Education”, the Ivorian Minister of National Education and Literacy, Mariatou Kone, and Director of Literacy and National Languages, Ndeye Name Diouf, who represents Senegalese Minister of National Education at the International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VII), were unanimous in welcoming the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the creation of the African Institute for Lifelong Learning. The Ivorian and Senegalese officials also praised the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the creation of a post-CONFINTEA VII inter-ministerial commission. The creation of the African Institute for Lifelong Learning is likely to “strengthen coordination and South-South cooperation in the field of adult and lifelong learning,” said His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in a Royal Message addressed by the Sovereign to the participants in this conference, and which was read by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.
