COVID-19: Morocco Records 1,848 New Cases, Over 17.7 Mln Fully Vaccinated People

Morocco has recorded 1,848 new COVID-19 cases while 2,793 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, the ministry of Health announced on Tuesday. A total of 21,411,909 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 17,764,370, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin. The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 922,222, while recoveries rise to 888,283, i.e. a recovery rate of 96.3%. The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (810), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (419), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (159), the Oriental (149), Marrakech-Safi (75), Fez-Meknes (65), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (44), Draa-Tafilalet (30), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (30), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (27), Guelmim-Oued Noun (23) and Souss-Massa (17). As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,009 with 51 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (16), Casablanca-Settat (10), Fez-Meknes (5), Beni Mellal- Khenifra (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), Draa-Tafilalet (3), Souss-Massa (3), Marrakech-Safi (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2) and the Oriental (1). The number of active cases stands at 19,930 including 1,318 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
