Errahma’s CMP – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, Strong Royal Will to Ensure Healthcare Offer for Vulnerable Populations
His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Monday inaugurated a Proximity Medical Center (CMP) – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in the new town of Errahma in Casablanca’s Dar Bouazza Commune, for an overall investment of 73 million dirhams. The Sovereign visited, on this occasion, multiple components of this solidarity project which shows His commitment to improve medical services for the benefit of citizens, to consolidate healthcare for populations in vulnerable situations and to ensure a comprehensive, sustainable and integrated human development. The implementation of this center is in line with the Sovereign’s efforts to promote the access of the underprivileged to basic proximity and quality healthcare, and to ensure a periodic and regular medical follow-up of people whose health condition requires specialized consultations. Providing 24/7 care, the new Proximity Medical Center, which will benefit nearly 60,000 people per year, will alleviate the pressure on existing hospital facilities in the region, as well as avoid long trips for some poor patients that weigh heavily on their budget, as well as that of their families. As an intermediary structure between the network of basic health care establishments (level 1 and 2) and the hospital network, the CMP – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity serves a population of more than 300,000 inhabitants of the new town of Errahma and the surrounding areas, thus ensuring greater complementarity in the health map at the level of the Region. The new center includes, thus, a pole of medical emergencies of proximity with emergency doctors who will ensure the guard in particular in the rooms of dechoquage, examination, care, observation and plaster. It also includes a specialized medical consultation unit (cardiology, ENT, gastroenterology, pediatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology), an orthopedics and functional rehabilitation unit, and a medico-technical pole with an operating room (a general surgery room and another for obstetric surgery), as well as a recovery room. The CMP – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity of the new town of Errahma also houses a mother-child health center with a technical delivery unit (4 delivery rooms and a room for the care of newborns) and examination rooms, care, vaccination and ultrasound. Equipped with latest generation equipment, the Center also houses an oral care unit, a medical imaging unit (radiology, mammography, ultrasound, panoramic), a medical analysis laboratory, a hospitalization unit (13 double rooms) and another for sterilization, a pharmacy, an awareness room, a kitchen and a morgue. The new hospital also has an ambulance to ensure the medical transport of patients. Like those inaugurated by the Sovereign in the El Youssoufia district in Rabat and Sidi Moumen in Casablanca, and those in Témara and Tangier (Beni Makada district), which will be operational in 2022, the new Proximity Medical Center in the new city of Errahma is part of a comprehensive program conducted by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and aimed at supporting the national medical sector. This program focuses in particular on strengthening the existing health care offer, setting up a local health care network accessible to the population and integrating a complementary social approach into the mechanisms for supporting patients. The project will eventually lead to the creation of twelve local medical centers, including three in Casablanca (Sidi Moumen, the new town of Errahma and Hay Hassani), two in Fez, two in Tangier, and one each in Agadir, Marrakech, Rabat, Salé and Témara. This project is the result of a partnership between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council and the Provincial Council of Nouaceur. It reinforces the various actions carried out by the Foundation in the medical and humanitarian fields, and demonstrates its multi-faceted and diversified commitment to the well-being and prosperity of the poor.
