Spain’s support to the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Sahara enshrines the rejection of separatist aims and theses that undermine regional peace and stability, said the Association of Moroccan Jews in Mexico. “The decision of Madrid adds to the support of the Moroccan autonomy initiative within the international community and constitutes a rejection of separatist aims and theses that threaten regional peace and stability,” said the president of the Association, Moises Amselem Elbaz, in a statement sent to MAP. The Spanish decision marks a new era in bilateral relations between the two countries, based on the principles of “trust, transparency, mutual respect and commitments,” he added.
